Your sleep entries are automatically categorized as either a nap or night sleep based on their start time.
You can adjust your Night Sleep Period in the app by going to Settings → Profile → Your Sleep Schedule → Night Sleep Period.
How does it work?
- If a sleep entry starts within your defined night sleep period (between the earliest bedtime and latest wake-up time), it will be categorized as night sleep.
- If a sleep entry starts outside this period, it will be marked as a nap.
Why might naps be marked as night sleep (or vice versa)?
1️⃣ Your baby’s sleep time was significantly different from usual
- For example, if your baby typically sleeps at 8 PM but falls asleep at 6 PM, the system might classify it as a nap.
- In this case, you can manually adjust the sleep type on the details page of the specific entry.
2️⃣ Your night sleep period settings need an update
- If this misclassification happens frequently, it may be because the Night Sleep Period is too narrow.
- We recommend setting it to the earliest typical bedtime and the latest typical wake-up time to account for daily variations.
- For instance, if your baby generally sleeps from 7 PM to 7 AM (with a ±45-minute variation), setting the Night Sleep Period to 6 PM – 8 AM ensures accurate tracking on most days.
